Audio Overview

You can use the onboard audio hardware on Bottango Solar to play audio directly from your figure or hardware project.

Bottango does not live stream audio from the desktop application to Bottango Solar. Instead, Bottango Solar plays audio files from its microSD card. When an audio track would play in your animation, Bottango triggers playback of the matching file on the board.

This works while Bottango Solar is connected to the desktop app, while playing exported animations without a connected computer, or while being controlled by a show controller.

Audio Outputs

Bottango Solar can play audio through its stereo line-out TRS (“headphone”) jack.

If DC power is connected, Bottango Solar can also play audio through its small onboard amplifier to connected passive speakers. The onboard amp is powered by the DC power input, which is the same input used for servos.

There are two passive speaker connector options:

• Screw terminals for speaker wires OR
• Dual JST-XH 2.5 mm pitch 2-pin connectors, commonly used with small passive speakers

Warning!

Do not use both passive speaker connector types at the same time.

Use either the JST-XH connectors or the screw terminals, not both. Connecting four passive speakers to Bottango Solar can cause damage.
