Mounting
Bottango control boards come with an acrylic mounting plate and mounting hardware. It is strongly recommended to mount the boards to the mounting plates, or to make your own alternative mounting plate, rather than mounting the control boards directly to your project.
- Use the provided nylon bolts to mount the board to the mounting plate. You can safely mount the acrylic mounting plate to your project, and let the nylon bolts and plastic spacers handle the more delicate mounting of the actual board itself. The nylon bolts will prevent damage to the board through the mounting holes. Avoid using metal bolts or screws through the mounting holes.
- The mounting plates and standoffs provide spacing so that the board’s components have airflow and the back of the board does not directly touch other surfaces. But don’t let anything touch or rest directly on the front or back of the boards.
- Frequently touching and handling the components of the board, besides buttons, especially while plugged in and operating, can cause errors or even damage.
Mounting the Control Boards
Section titled “Mounting the Control Boards”Use the provided nylon bolts, 5 mm plastic spacers, and hex nuts to mount the boards onto the mounting plates. The spacers should go between the board and the plate, with the hex nuts on the back.
Use the provided Allen key and wrench to secure the board. Do not overtighten, as that may damage the board. Note that the mounting holes and mounting plates are not symmetrical, so you should check that you have the right orientation before attaching them.

Safety Considerations for Mounting
Section titled “Safety Considerations for Mounting”Powering servos, performing operations like wireless connections, etc. all generate heat on the boards.
Be sure that there is adequate airflow on all sides of the board.
Do not have any materials directly touching the boards besides the mounting hardware. Keep the boards away from flammable materials.
Be smart, use common sense, and use the boards in a way that allows you to monitor them adequately while in use.
